The saga continues…
When I returned back to North Carolina from my quick but fun trip to Vegas I had very little time to rest before gearing up for another wedding. I was definitely excited for this wedding!
Morgan and Josh held their ceremony at a beautiful church near downtown Kernersville. I loved Morgan’s bridal bouquet with a beautiful summer mix of flowers including peonies, anemones, stock and my personal favorite: the Juliette garden rose. Her and her bridesmaids were so much to photograph before the ceremony, everyone very excited! Morgan and Josh also did a first touch before the ceremony and exchanged personalized gifts for each other.
I think I had two (maybe three) favorite moments during this wedding day. One would be when Morgan and Josh’s dogs made a surprise visit during the family formals. Second would be during the ceremony when the garter ended up landing in a serving bowl of ranch when Josh flung it into the crowd of single men. (He also performed a hilarious strip tease for Morgan beforehand)
But another favorite moment that didn’t start out so favorite was when we learned that the hotel where the reception was being held had lost power due to a storm the night before. On our way from the ceremony, I had no idea what I was going to do in terms of photographing the reception once the sun went down. It was definitely one of those: roll with the punches moment.
HOWEVER! By the time we arrived the power had been restored and everything else ran smoothly! BIG sigh of relief!
And for the photographers out there, I am so in love with how I lit the reception! A simple two flash set up, one on my camera and another on a light stand usually faced upwards but tilted ever-so-lightly downwards.
