One of my best friends Shannon is no stranger to being in front of the camera, she has been a spectacular model for in past photo shoots. We have discussed doing a couple session for her and her boyfriend Ben for a while and I was so glad that our schedules linked up so we could actually do it! Bracing the extreme heat (this has been one of the hottest summers) and putting on our smiles we ventured into the woods of Umstead Park in Raleigh. It was a gorgeous park, the light trickled through the trees beautifully! Although we did become victims to a chigger nest (their bites are vicious!!) we had a blast and the images definitely show the great time and the love between Shannon and Ben. Can’t wait for more shoots in the Triangle!
I had been looking forward to this wedding for most of 2015 and when it finally came to all my expectations had been met! Kelsie and Mike are one couple that’s seriously in love and every photo I took of them that day was bursting with their love for each other! The venue, Stonewall Farms, was a beautiful location that fit their wedding perfectly. To the Ferris Wheels with pictures of their years together, the sunflowers, the carnival-themed food and the endless dancing made their day so unique! It’s so amazing to see how every wedding I photograph is so different from one another, this one was one of the most unique weddings I’ve shot and I couldn’t be happier that I got to share their special day (: Read More »
I love when I get to work with clients more than once! I had worked with Brittany in June 2014, doing shots of her running that she would submit to a contest to be featured in a women’s running magazine. A year later, when Brittany contacted me knowing that her boyfriend Jason would be popping the question soon she asked if I would do their photos. I was so happy and even happier when two weeks later she shows me a video of him surprising her with a proposal! I was in tears–it was so cute!! We went out in early July to Hagan Stone Park in Pleasant Garden to do their photos. The heat was almost unbearable, but it didn’t hold us back. (I looked at myself after the shoot and was relieved I wasn’t being photographed–I was a hot mess) The entire session was so much fun, you can’t help but see the love they have for each other in every image and I couldn’t get enough of it myself! Editing these photos was just as much fun as it was photographing. Both of them are very active people, as stated before, Brittany is a runner and loves to run in marathons and races and Jason loves to bike. They wanted to express that in some photos, seeing how it was a big part of who they are. I loved it and embraced the idea and the photos for that part turned out great and made the session more unique and fun! I used mostly my 50mm 1.4 lens and my wide angle lens for the shoot and used white reflectors to add some nice kiss of light. I loved this location, the greenery and the way the light pours into the woods. It was the paragon of all engagement sessions for me, wish I had more clients getting engaged *wink, wink* Read More »
This was an absolutely amazing senior session…almost too good to be true! I have done headshots for Briana and her older sister before and was so happy to be doing her senior pictures this year! One thing about Briana is that she a marvelous dancer and I got to do some dancing shots of her as well, which was new to me and I had fun doing. My favorite outfit was Briana’s mustard yellow dress and that to-die-for hat that just tied the whole outfit together! Briana, her mother and I were all just so amazed at how well that outfit worked with the location! I gawked over these images for such a long time and I’m so excited to be sharing them with you (: Read More »
A much anticipated day for Brooke and Steven, nine years in the making, was nothing less than perfect for the both of them and everyone else who attended their beautiful wedding. Dark clouds, thick summer heat and downpours of rain was the only draw back–however it did not phase the bride and groom because all they wanted to do was to finally become one, become husband and wife, and to spend the rest of their lives together. I was so happy and honored that I got to photograph their special and to also be a groomsmen. Here are some images that highlight that amazing day! Read More »
A few weeks ago I got the pleasure of photographing Shannon for a high fashion session and I am so happy withe results! I always love shooting at fisher park and it was the perfect summer day for it, Shannon just GLOWED under that sun and shined in every image! I love how the first half, with her white dress and her hair (which I did) had a totally different feel than the ones with her in the crop top and high waisted shorts. The pears were a nice touch that my assistant thought would add something unique to the shoot and I liked it a lot. We went from soft and dreamy to a more commercial feel. Shannon did a wonderful job and I am sure loving all my session this summer.Read More »
Ashley is one of my favorite models to photograph! This was my third time shooting with her, I first photographed her for my spring portfolio for school where I had a 70s vogue theme going on (hopefully I’ll get around to posting those photos too!) Anyways, I was dying to have another session with her so we headed out to one of my favorite places to shoot and went with it, with very little prep. It was rough start trying to figure out what style to go for but once we got into the swing of it we had a lot of fun shooting! Ashley is such a gorgeous girl and is a natural in front of the camera! I’m hoping next time we get to work together we will do something more commercial and edgy! Read More »
This year, for the first time, I had inquires about shooting people’s graduation photos for college. As I get older I am doing more senior photos, for high school, and graduation photos, from college, which I really like! Lindsey graduated from NC State this year, majoring in business management, and it was obvious by the way she was glowing that day that she was eager to begin a new chapter in her life! We covered the campus on a warm summer day and had a blast! Lindsey was a delight to photograph and I’m glad I got to spend my afternoon with her! I also love how beautiful the campus is too.
Thought I’d finally get around to showing off one my favorite family sessions! What made this session different from the others was that we had to do the session twice due to technical difficulties but each time went over fantastically! The lighting was beautiful that day and even in the middle of December it wasn’t too cold outside. I was over enjoyed when I saw that they brought along their new puppy for the photos, which added a nice touch! I am hoping to do some more family sessions soon before summer rolls in. If you would like to have a family session done feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org for more info!
